The Our Untold Story song, Rosy, is the only song I have not written myself; and yet it is one of the song that resonates with me the most.
Rosy was written by Nick Thornley, my mum’s high school boyfriend, and then given to me as a gift after I found the original piece of paper in my mother’s guitar case and played my version of the song for Nick in my childhood back garden one summer afternoon when I was about 16 years old.
At the time I did not realise just how much those lyrics would come to mean to me and how that song would stay and evolve with me through life.
One night when I was 18 I ingested an absurdly high dosage of Lysergic Acid, also known as LSD. I ended up in hospital and had a near death moment of enlightenment and clarity. It was in this state that I was shown two possible outcomes in my life.
The first was a short lived life of pain and suffering, should I choose to continue down the path I was currently heading.
The second was a life of fulfilment, success and value where I could see the legacy that I would build up and leave behind.
When I awoke and was taken home I found my room in a state of total destruction and realised that what I had been given was a second chance.
I have since then dedicated myself to self-growth and a life of gratitude and creating value.
As I have grown and changed, so has Rosy. The lyrics in my mouth have a new meaning and in my heart they carry more emotion each time I play it.
It is my anthem and one that I choose to share with the world in the hope that others may find refuge and the power to save themselves from a life of self-destruction.

they say you’re too young but you’re over the hill. so you reach for your bag and your little yellow pill. your stomach may be empty, but your mind it is full. your life may be short, but never is it dull.
because life inside a little plastic bag. it gives you life like you have never had. a little drink straight up your nose. oh life is so rosy when your stoned.
they say you’re going nowhere, but there’s nowhere to go. and then they tell you things that you already know. like everything you take, is so bad for you- but you’re gonna die eventually whatever you do!
because life inside a little plastic bag. it gives you life like you have never had. a little drink straight up your nose. oh life is so rosy when your stoned.
you wake up in a hospital, you don’t know who you are. you don’t know if, you are dead or alive. you think you are a rock and roll star. oh the doctor thinks, you’re the lowest of low. but who is he to say, no he don’t really know. he’s gonna go home to his whiskey tonight, tonight he is gonna get stoned!
because life inside a little plastic bag. it gives you life like you have never had. a little drink straight up your nose. oh life is so rosy when your stoned.
a little smile from someone who knows, that everything is going to be alright. plenty of pills and whiskey tonight tonight we are gonna get stoned!
because life inside a little plastic bag. it gives you life like you have never had. a little drink straight up your nose. oh life is so rosy when your stoned.
